Tibbs Dementia Services is a Community
Interest Company dedicated to providing a range of accessible
services and activities for people living with dementia and their
carers within the local community.
We strive to be responsive to the needs and ideas of people with
dementia and their carers and actively seek to support people with
dementia to have a voice and to be heard.
Tibbs Dementia Services provide the following services:
Music 4 Memory: A
creative musical space for carers and people with
At home service: A
specialised one to one music therapy service for those most
isolated by their dementia. Offering opportunities to communicate
and explore emotion through music and to perhaps begin to engage
with other services and to feel less isolated.
Clear Voices: A facilitated meeting point for
those wishing to understand and talk about their diagnosis of
dementia, to develop a support network, identify strategies to take
some control over their diagnosis and to find a strong and clear
voice to express their needs and anxieties.
Encompass: A structured
and facilitated service for carers to explore some of the unique
losses associated with dementia within a group setting.
Activi-tea: Run alongside
Encompass this group supports those with dementia to engage safely
in a range of stimulating, creative activities that focus on and
encourage communication through action as well as the verbal.
Support 4 Memory: an early
support programme - Eight weekly sessions for
those with a recent, seeking a diagnosis or concerns about their
memory and their family carer to meet with others and in a
facilitated environment to develop their understanding of dementia,
begin to explore and express feelings about memory loss and
dementia and together build strategies and networks to support them
through their dementia journey.
Kempston Drop In: a weekly
drop for people with dementia or memory loss and cognitive change
to come with their family supporter or alone to meet others in a
friendly welcoming social environment and to engage in a range of
Challengers 4 Memory: A range
of physical activities and challenges encouraging people with
dementia to continue to enjoy or take up new sporting activities
and hobbies. Sessions are designed to be physically challenging but
in a safe, enabling and encouraging environment.
