Core Strategy Group (Archive Page)

The Core Strategy Group (CSG) ensured that Housing Related Support Services were developed to meet local needs of vulnerable people in Bedfordshire. The CSG was accountable to the Commissioning Body (CB) and was responsible for overseeing the strategic planning of Housing Related Support Services to promote their quality of life, well being and independence for service users, in accordance with central government guidelines.

The membership of the CSG was as follows:

Bedfordshire Supporting People Accountable Officer (Chair);

  • Senior Strategic Officer from each Council;
  • Senior officer from the PCT;
  • Senior Officer from Bedfordshire Probation Service;
  • Representative from Bedfordshire Community Safety/ Domestic Violence Networks;
  • Three provider representatives one from each of:
  • Older Persons providers
  • Socially excluded groups
  • Health- Mental Health/ Learning Disability and Physical and Sensory Disability Services
  • Two further provider representatives elected by the Provider Forum;
  • Head of Commissioning for Adult Social Care;
  • A representative from the Black and Minority Ethnic housing forum;
  • A representative from Drug Action Team;
  • A representative from Youth Offending Services;
  • A Representative from Leaving Care Services;
  • Mental health Commissioner;
  • Learning Disabilities Commissioner; and 
  • Head of Supporting People Team.

 

The CSG met every three months to review progress on the strategy and make recommendations to the CB on how best to deliver the 5 Year Supporting People Strategy.    All decisions and recommendations were made with the benefit of service users in mind.
