Every week we see new apprenticeship opportunities advertised on
website. At any one time there are always at least 30
apprenticeships within 5 miles of the centre of Bedford and
this number triples if you are prepared to search further-a-field
even by just another 5miles!
Looking for an Apprenticeship?
Once you register with National Apprenticeships you can create a
search, make it a favourite and sit back while the opportunities
come to you via email and text message (you will need to tick the
correct boxes to accept text msgs)
Can’t see anything you like? Don’t give up at
the first hurdle, we suggest you conduct a
BT Business search and look for businesses within the Bedford
area that you’d like to work for, for example Accountants – the
search will give you the top 50 employers in order of distance from
your chosen town. Many employers have dedicated sections of their
websites relating to recruitment and we’ve found apprenticeships
advertised on their sites in the past which have not yet made it
onto the National Apprenticeships site. They say the early bird
gets the worm, so get in their first!
Alternatively you can approach the companies
directly and see if they’d consider taking you on as an apprentice?
If the employer has not taken on an apprentice before (or in the
last 12mths) they can claim £1,500 from National Apprenticeships as
a thank you with the Age16-24
Grant you may like to print this off to show the employer to
assist you with your enquiries (this is valid for all new
apprentice starts before December 31st 2015)
Can't get there? If you are interested in an
Apprenticeship but cannot get to it each day you may wish to
consider the Wheels2Work
Scheme for a small fee per month.
