Junior Triathlon Events

No Frills Junior Triathlon Events for Beginners

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THOSE THAT COMPETED IN OUR LAST JUNIOR DUATHLON!

 

Aged 8 – 18years old* and fancy trying triathlon events?

...Come and see what it's all about.

 

*age groups allocated depending on your age on 31st December 2015, so if you are 7 at moment but turn 8 this year, you can take part.

 

Pre-booking is required by calling 01234 718829

£5 per participant, this pays for entry, ‘race’ numbers timing chips and medals.

*Particpants MUST bring their own bikes and cycle helmets.*

 

Times & Distances:

Race 1 – Tristarts/Tristars 1 (8, 9 & 10 year olds)

Distance will be 1 lap run, 2 laps bike, 1 lap run

 

Registration opens 8.30am for Race 1

Registration closes for Race 1 at 9am

Transition opens at 8.30am

Transition Closes 9.10am

Race briefing on start line at 9.15am Race starts after Race briefing

Collect bikes from transition when race is finished


 

Race 2 - Tristars 2 and 3 ( ages 11,12,13 and 14 year olds).

Distance will be 2 laps run, 4 laps  bike, 1 lap run

 

Registration opens at 9am for Race 2

Registration closes at 9.40 for Race 2

Transition opens at 9.45am

Transition Closes at 9.55am

Race briefing on Start line at 10am and race starts

Collect bikes from transition when race is finished


 

Race 3 - Juniors/Youths (ages 15,16, 17 and 18 year olds).

Distances will be 3 lap run, 6 laps bike, 2 laps run

 

Registration opens at 9.40am for Race 3

Registration closes at 10.30am for Race 3

Transition opens at 10.35am

Transition Closes at 10.45am

Race briefing on Start line at 10.50am and race starts

Collect bikes from transition when race is finished


 

Routes:

As this is a beginner event, participants can choose to complete less laps than those stated above but they cannot compete more than the maximum stated.  This means they can turn back if the route is too long for them.

1 Lap of Run is: 323 meters (0.2 miles) approx.

1 Lap Bike (without BMX track) 504 meters ( 0.3 miles) approx.

 

There will be designated places to run in and run out, bike in and like out of the transition area. To familiarise yourself with the course look at the route map HERE.

 

Parking:

Car parks available off of Cleat Hill (end of Kimbolton Road) &  Wentworth Drive.

 

Refreshments:

Mowsbury Park Cafe will be open for refreshments on the day.
