Motorcycling Useful Information and Advice
Motorcycling can also be a practical and cost efficient way of
travel. It can also be great fun and deliver a sense
of exhilaration that cannot be matched by any other form
Motor cyclists are vulnerable road users.
Motorcycles make up approxamatly 1% of the traffic on Great
Britain's roads yet account for over 18% of the number of
people killed or seriously injured. In 2012 328 motorcycle users
died and 5,000 were seriously injured.
The dangers can be reduced by wearing appropriate clothing, and
getting trained. It does not matter if you are a 16 year old
getting your first motorised transport, a "born again" biker who
after being relieved from some of the financial burdens and
responsibilities of family life decides to recapture the
joys of your youth or a life long lover of two wheels.
